The Language of Looking is a love poem exploring the intimacy in silence, the quiet moments where glances speak louder than words.

It’s about the tension, the wonder, and the vulnerability of being seen and seeing someone else in return. In a world of noise, this piece leans into the beauty of stillness, where eye contact becomes confession, and looking becomes its own language.

This was published in Missed Connections, a bookazine by students on the MA Publishing course at the London College of Communication, UAL, showcasing creative work.

Who am I?

January 2025

Who Am I is another personal reflection on identity, self-worth and the quiet power of reclaiming my name. Written during a workshop led by Poetic Unity, this poem explores the quiet compromises I've cut, the syllables I've cut and the presence I've softened, all in the name of acceptance.

As a Black British woman, it speaks to all the subtle ways we're taught to shrink ourselves to fit, and the decision to unlearn that entirely.

Fearlessly Made: The Power in My Name

November 2024

Fearlessly Made: The Power in My Name was performed under the lights of a spoken word night during Black History Month in November 2024.

It's authentic and truly represents me and the struggles I've encountered having a unique name.

But this is not just about my name. It’s about the weight of significance tucked into each letter, appreciating its pronunciation and celebrating my Cameroonian heritage.

Published in The Clandestine, the magazine of the King’s College London Women in Politics Society, my article, From Footnotes to Headlines explores what it means to take up space in a world that once wrote us out.

This piece honours the rise of women’s voices, from the margins of history to the forefront of today’s discourse. It is both a tribute and a quiet provocation: to remember, resist, and reimagine who gets to speak, and who gets remembered.
